The Old Navy Nap Dress

So nice, I bought it twice.

Dress Options: Patterned; Colored; Short Length; V-neck; Heels: Target

If you haven’t heard, this year’s trendiest dress is the “nap dress” by Hill House Home. It comes in a range of silhouettes, but the iconic Ellie style is a billowy, prairie maxi dress with a ruffled shoulder. If $125 is beyond your budget but you still want to try this style, don’t fret, Old Navy created a great affordable option for around $50!

I have yet to invest in a true Hill House Home nap dress (maybe one day), so I cannot directly compare the designer and budget-friendly dresses against each other. My comparison is based on photos of the nap dress, and it looks like Old Navy created a decent replica.

Even if you aren’t seeking a look alike for the nap dress trend, the Old Navy dress is great in its own right! I was thoroughly impressed with the fit and fabric – so impressed, that I bought two different colors! This dress is incredibly comfy. The skirt is lined but still breathable enough to wear during warm weather, and the ruching on top is a good excuse to go sans bra. If you don’t want to skip the bra, the versatile straps actually let you decide if you’d prefer to wear them off the shoulder with a strapless bra or if you want to wear them up with a regular bra.

In addition to changing up your look with the straps, I love that you can wear this dressed up or dressed down. I’ve worn it with flats for family get-togethers but it can easily be dressed up with heels for brunch or a date or sneakers for a more casual look. The neckline is great for showing off layered necklaces or you can opt for a statement earring, then top it off with a denim jacket to complete the outfit. Last but not least, I have indeed taken a nap in this dress! My newborn niece fell asleep in my arms, so I decided why not join her! It really is that comfy.

If you want to snag this dress, move quickly because it’s a hot item and frequently sells out. However, it seems like Old Navy has been replenishing often, and creating new colors, so keep checking back, or check out their new, similar option here.

Love always, Raelene
