Four Ways to Wear a Satin Midi Dress

A satin midi dress is perfect for holiday festivities. There are quite a few ways one can be styled. Here I’m showing you four ways to wear one, whether you need to dress it up or make it a little more cozy.

First, it’s great as it is. All you need are heels and some fun accessories. I added these star hair clips for some sparkle.

Second, almost as easy as the first style, just layer with a structured jacket for another touch of style, and for warmth. I opted for a classic black leather style jacket, but a blazer would also look great.

The third way I’m styling this satin midi dress is by adding a sweater over it. I love this look because it gives the illusion of a skirt. A hack for styling a sweater over a dress is to add a belt at your waistline, then tuck your sweater up into the belt. This crops the sweater to your waistline, which is more flattering than if it were to hang loosely on its own.

The fourth way I’m wearing this satin midi dress is with a long sleeve blouse. Similar to adding a sweater, this look gives the illusion of a skirt. I love this long sleeve blouse because it has a touch of lace and buttons to make it fun and flirty, but the options are really endless. I’d just recommend a crop style, because you want it to offset the length of the dress and pull you in at your waist.
