Shackets & Sweater Dresses for Fall

Shacket: Vintage Vogue boutique; More options: here

The leaves are changing colors and it definitely feels like Fall here in Napa! There are two pieces in my closest that I’ll be wearing on repeat all season: shackets and sweater dresses.

Shackets, or shirt jackets, have become a really big trend in the last year. They are basically a thicker, warmer version of a flannel button down. I personally love shackets because they are easy to add to an outfit and instantly look on-trend. They also keep you warmer than a regular flannel, which I appreciate with these cooler temps.

Shackets can be worn so many ways. I styled this one with a sweater dress as a look I’d wear if going out to brunch or even dinner. Shackets look great with casual outfits too: jeans and sneakers, leggings and booties, there are so many outfits that you can wear with a shacket.

Sweater dresses are another go-to in my wardrobe. They are perfect for when you need to dress up but still want to feel cozy. Sweater dresses also look great with tights or leggings for an extra layer of warmth. I styled this one with a shacket to dress it down a bit, but it also pairs well with longer coats for a sleek, sophisticated look. If you have any upcoming holiday parties, a sweater dress would be a great option! A sleek coat, heels, and some glam accessories and you’ve got a great party outfit! Stay tuned, and be sure to follow along on Instagram, as I’ll be styling various sweater dresses throughout the season.

Would you try the shacket trend? How do you feel about sweater dresses? The shacket pictured here is from a boutique, but I linked to several trendy options on this post. Let me know how you’d style these!

Love always,

Raelene
