3 Ways to Style a Band Tee

Band tees are a great trend! T-shirts are always a great basic to have in your closet, but now, throw a band graphic on the front and voila, you are right on trend!

What I love most about band tees are how many ways you can wear them. It’s worth adding a few to your closet because you will easily get so much use out of them. Plus, since it’s such a big trend right now, they are easy to find at great prices in various styles, like cropped, acid wash, distressed, and more.

Band tees are easy to throw on and go for days you’re just running errands, but they can also be jazzed up with accessories and worn for a night out. Here, I’m showing you just three of the countless ways they can be styled.

Style 1: Knot it up over a midi skirt, paired with sneakers.

Graphic Tee

When you opt to wear a t-shirt, you might automatically want to pair it with jeans. Instead, swap those pants for a sleek midi skirt. You can tie a knot in the graphic tee to give the look an added boost of style. If you want to keep the outfit vibe casual, you can rock sneakers. This would look great with heels or booties, too! Throw on a headband or layered necklaces, and your look is complete.

Style 2: Classic with jeans, a jacket and heels.

The skirt was one option, but like I said, jeans are the classic go-to for a t-shirt. A laidback look would be the t-shirt, jeans and sneakers. The tee will do the work of keeping your outfit on-trend, with minimal effort required. If you want to spruce it up a bit, you can opt for heels and add a leather jacket. This look would be perfect for when you’re heading to happy hour with the girls!

Style 3: Summer shorts, hat and booties.

Maybe it’s the hat or me reminiscing on Bottlerock, but this look has festival vibes! I love the contrast of the black tee paired with white shorts, but denim shorts are a nice option, too. Shorts are the perfect pair for a band tee on warmer days. Again, it’s easy to keep this look simple with just shorts and the tee, but I love stepping it up a notch with an accessory like the hat. Booties also add a layer of chic to the look. This would be a great outfit for something outdoors, like a festival, the neighborhood concerts in the park, or even a BBQ.

During fall, I’d swap the shorts for white jeans and layer with a denim jacket. Yes, you can wear white after Labor Day!

I hope it’s helpful to see different ways one piece can be worn. When adding to your closet, it’s so important to get pieces that you can wear a lot to really make the purchase worth it. I don’t care if I spend $15 or $50 on an item, I’m always going to think about cost per wear and how to make the most of that piece!

I can think of so many other ways I’d wear a band tee, and I hope these three looks inspired you to try different outfits with one staple piece. Let me know which look was your fave or how else you’d rock it!
